Redemption

I took a hammer to my past
and smashed it all to pieces.
Because that was the old me,
and now I’m a new me.
The wound it left isn’t healing very fast.
You can still see every little crease,
constant reminders of my struggle.
With the difference between them being ever so subtle.
I took a hammer to my past,
and smashed it all to pieces.
Now, everyday’s a new journey,
and every moment a new memory.
